Can’t remember when I started following you, but it was definitely pre-Simon and you had fostered a couple of dogs (I remember Marble and Lila). Although you obviously shared parts of your life on IG, to read years later that you were going through some of this is pretty amazing/impressive (not sure what the right word is). I’m sure many people wanted to know more details on what happened at certain life changes, but I think you handled it really well and established your boundaries. Congrats on the new apartment!
Thank you so much for saying that. I struggle with what to share, how much to share, etc. This feels like a safe place to share my stories in my own words.
This sucked me in, I forgot everything going on around for a few short minutes. And it also brought me back to the strangest time of my life, the beginning of the pandemic. Such a good read!
This is so good, and then it’s even better than that. I feel so selfish wanting more and more! I could read an entire book from these stories of different apartments.
Your photos are lovely. I have no photos of all the places I have lived and that would be neat to have. Photos have a way of bringing back so many deep memories. But we didn't have cell phones to take pictures, back in the day! Love your newsletter!
Apartment 4 is where I (like a lot of people I’m sure!) became aware of you! I’ve followed since Simon day 1. This is a whole new side of you and I’m loving it. It’s like reading a very well written personal journal. I look forward to more!
Love these little vignettes of your life! You’re able to capture so much in such a concise format - something I’ve always struggled with. Thanks for sharing!! (Also the baby Simon photos kill me 😍)
You're an incredible writer, Isabel. So relatable I am still in my beginning stages of living in Bushwick in a new-ish (1.5 year) relationship and even though our stories are so different, yours touches me in such a familiar way, I'm sure I am not the only one. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing these parts of yourself with us. <3
Loved this week's newsletter! The places we live really define different chapters of our lives. Having a cozy space to call home is so important. I feel like the beginning of covid really amplified that, and how much having a safe home space impacts our mental health. It seems like you are good at romanticizing the small things in life and finding joy in the little moments, I love that! The world needs more of it 🙌
Absolutely – I know it's true for New Yorkers especially, but your apartments define so much of your life. What friends you live with, what coffee shops you go to, what bars you frequent, etc.

It was honestly so hard to write about – such a weird little slice of life. So glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing. It's hard to write about love (and loss of love), but you got it. So proud of your work.
Love you mom <3

Not selfish at all, I also have the urge to just give you guys everything all at once!
Izzy, these are so good! You are such a talented writer! And baby Simon pics to boot! Bravo!
Baby Simon pics makes everything better :)

Yes! That's where I met most of you!
This definitely has the makings of a good memoir.
Hopefully one day :)

I struggle with that too! It's such a good thing to learn though, I feel like it makes writing so much punchier.
Not the cliff hanger!!!!!
